Hi all, I'm just curious what other classical builders are setting their action to for "normal" playing. Do any of you have measurements of your 1st and 6th string at the 12th fret with your finger pressing down at the 1st fret? How about measurements without your finger pressing down at the 1st? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! John |

For what it's worth I shoot for .110" at the 12th for the 1st string and .150 at the 12th for the 6th |

JOhn, I set mine up at 2.5mm on the first string and 3.0 to 3.5mm on the 6th string. These are at the 12th fret |
JOhn, I set mine up at 2.5mm on the first string and 3.0 to 3.5mm on the 6th string. These are at the 12th fret
The one I play is set up about the same. I've heard this refered to as "international standard" (2-3mm 1st and 3-4mm 6th) by the folks at Guitar Salon International. Don't know if there is any truth to that but that's where I put mine. |
